Tomorrow is the Feed My Starving Children event from 9:00 to 11:00. We have 33 people volunteering which is fantastic! Thank you all!
Sunday is our Work Trip Sunday. Come and see the amazing work that the group did this summer and hear them reflect on the power of working together on a hands-on service project.
Wednesday is our first Bible Study of the new year. No sign up is necessary. Just join us on Wednesday night at 6:30 in the Fireplace Room.
The first night for the Evening Book Discussion group is October 11th at 7:00 p.m. We will be discussing the book “The One in a Million Boy” by Monica Wood. You don’t need to sign up ahead of time for this either. Just come and join in!
The Men’s Retreat is scheduled for November 17th and 18th. We will be going tot he Dekoven center in Racine, Wisconsin. Space is limited–almost half of our spaces are already reserved. So, we would love to have you sign up soon.
Sunday, October 1 following worship we will be having our Annual Congregational Budget Meeting. There will be childcare during that time. Please plan to join us for this important church family discussion.
Here is an overview of what is coming up. We are determined this year to offer folks the chance to try something new this year and strengthen the church family. Sunday worship: 10 AM as always. Maybe this is a year where making your way to church is as much as you can do. Fantastic! We have all been through those times!
Choir: Practices are on Sunday mornings prior to church. This is a great way to get to know some fun people and add to our worship life! Generally, two Sundays a month.
Union Folk: Play the guitar? Love folk music? Like to sing? Enjoy a good laugh? Join the Union Folk. Occasional Thursday evening practices. Generally, two Sunday’s a month.
Centering Prayer: Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 7:15: A small group of folks who gather to spend some time together in silence, with candlelight and quiet, meditative music.
Feed My Starving Children: 9/23 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Pack food and prepare it to be shipped to the hungry. (This event is already full.)
PADS: Starts next month–help with preparing food or go to the shelter and help serve.

Work Trip 2018: Back to Missouri for some sweaty work and good times. June 10 to June 15.
Church Ladies: 9:30 to 11:00 A freewheeling joys and concerns sharing, book discussing, fun group of women.
Evening Book Discussion Group: This is a new discussion group that will meet once a month. The first session will be on Wednesday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireplace Room. We will be discussing Monica Wood’s book: “The One in a Million Boy.” This group is for men and women, young and old.
Bible Study: This year, Bible Study will meet once a month. Our first session will be on Wednesday, 9/27 at 6:30 p.m. We will be connecting Bible Study to Sunday sermons.
Men’s Retreat: We have reserved space at the Dekovan Center in Racine, Wisconsin on Friday, November 17th through lunch on Saturday, November 18. Every participant will have their own room for sleeping. We look forward to a great time together!
Marriage Retreat: January 13th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the church. This will be an enriching, connecting time for our married couples.
Women’s Retreat: We are finalizing the date for early in 2018. Watch for upcoming announcements!
