Mark and Tracy Hindman are the Union Church of Lake Bluff’s pastors. Mark was ordained in 1985 and was called to be our pastor in 1995. As our church family grew, Tracy was called to join us as our youth pastor in 2003.
Mark Hindman
Prior to coming to UCLB, Mark was a youth pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmette, Illinois, a pastoral counselor at the Institute for Living in Winnetka, Illinois, and a crisis counselor at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago.
Mark attended Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota; McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago; and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
After 35 years of ministry, Mark still loves being a pastor. He is most at home in the midst of a pastoral counseling challenge, teaching Bible Study, or leading worship on a Sunday morning. He can be spotted on a daily basis walking his dog, Karma, in Lake Bluff Open Lands preserves. He can also be found sweating profusely on his favorite machine at the Lake Bluff Health and Fitness Center. If you haven’t seen him for a while, he may have found a way to head north to fish.
You can email Mark at mark@uclb.org or call him on his cell phone at (847) 224-6375.
Tracy Hindman
Prior to coming to UCLB, Tracy served as the youth pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. After 15 years there, Tracy welcomed the chance to join her husband, Mark, in ministry at the Union Church. Tracy enjoys working with children and leads the annual Outreach Work Trip that our youth and adults take together each year. She is the pastoral liaison to the Board of Elders and a wonderful administrator.
Tracy adds great creativity to our worship life and has brought rich practices to our church family, such as walking the labyrinth, centering prayer, and Taizé worship services.
Tracy attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and McCormick Theological seminary in Chicago. She was ordained in 1986.
Tracy can be reached at tracy@uclb.org or (224) 436-0081.
